Gypsy Pistoleros - Wild, Beautiful, Damned there are groups that do of the fusion its mark of identity, mixture of styles as homage to these that influenced them and like new middle to approach generations. The fusion of styles is a classic inside the national panorama due to the great Spanish musical tradition, to its diversity and to the own evolution of sounds. But it is rare to see a foreign group influenced by these sounds and carrying out its own mixture. Thus they are the Gypsy Gunmen, a born band in England but hardly influenced by those guitars that we consider so ours. The band was born of the hand of Reads J. while this lived in Zaragoza in a community of gypsies, of them learned its style, its art, its language, its instruments, its music and its peculiar form of life. All it, and the best of Rock and of the international punk Rocker, caused be join with him three crazy friends more to create a band that mixed these harmonious Rock with Mariachi and Flamenco tones. This peculiar style carried to heel to mythical groups as Motörhead, Gave, UFO, The Cramps or The Ramones. Highly they influenced by the themes of these last they decided to be changed the surname by Gunman, house along with the creation of direct and short themes, with emphasis on their refrains and without too many curlicues, except in those moments in which they are seen possessed by the native musical style. After many years rotating they have managed to publish this first work by name Wild, Beautiful, Damned produced by Joe Gibb (The Cure, Madonna, Catatonia) and that is comprised of 11 themes. Songs in which Reads J. mixture the English language with Spanish to lead to a personal and brave sound. The disk begins with The Crazy Crazy Loquito, a small sample of what is going to be the remainder of the disk. "one of the most unique bands I've heard in years - sleaze rock meets Spanish flamenco music in a refreshing blast of originality. I immediately picture the band playing in the background of Quentin Tarantino's slash-fest From Dusk Till Dawn. Gypsy Pistoleros could easily have been the banditos strumming severed limbs while Salma Hayek gyrated across the stage. . Right from the beginning of "The Crazy Loco Loquito" you can tell that Gypsy Pistoleros is on to something special, and it just gets better from there. "Un Hombre Sin Rostro, Pistolero" is one of the best songs I've heard so far this year. Complete with trumpets, the song evolves into a screaming energy filled chorus. Gypsy Pistoleros is blazing a new trail here and doing a hell of a job. There isn't a song on this release that I didn't like, right from start to finish the boys offer a steady dose of sleaze with a twist. I th ink SKKY is extremely fun, but they have over charged 3 times yet I keep going back because it is a fun place. Skky management needs to get their staff straight as far as over charging,a nd I know I am not the only one because it has happened to several people I know. So I bring cash and if for some reason I don't I tab out every drink and I don't tip as much as I should because they over charge me for a damn tip! I love it nut that needs to stop not saying I won't stop going there!~
Well I went to see Reno 911. It was pretty cool, DJ Kelly did a good job. I showed at 8pm and the movie didnt start till 10! It was supposed to start at 9, but it was worth waiting. Scion put on a good show, there was a ton of free stuff and they gave away an ipod and a xm receiver. Not a lot of ppl showed up soo, i guess you guys missed out.

Saturday night I went out for a friend of mine's bachelor party. We started out at Henry Hudson's on express way for some cheap drinks! Then we headed to Hawaiian Don's in the pouring rain. Don's was packed and it was karaoke night. This place reminded me a lot of Crawpappy's in Tulsa, a small place in the middle of nowhere and it was hopping. They served their famous Blue Hawaiian drink out of a glass that reminded me of a punch bowl! After Don's we headed over to Night Trips, whats a bachelor party with out a little adult entertainment. By the way the bachelor had only been to 1 bar in his life previous to this. The night ended kinda early since the girls crashed the party by showing up. But it was pretty fun, and the bachelor enjoyed himself.
Dozens of Edmond residents were able to convince the Edmond Planning Commission to deny one construction project and send another back for more discussion during the commission's meeting Tuesday.
A rezoning request by developer Jim Harlin to build 23 duplex lots on the West side of Sooner Road just south of Danforth was unanimously turned down.
Joe Burnett who lives on 6 acres north of the proposed development said as many as 100 cars would be added to an already congested area.
"It takes 10 minutes, as much as 15 to get out of our driveways," he said.
The proposed lots would accommodate 46 units on two or five acre tracts. read more
Clem McSpadden of Chelsea, a man whose distinct western voice was known from the marble floors of the state Capitol to the dirt rodeo arenas across North America, died Monday night at age 82 at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston after a lengthy battle with cancer.
McSpadden, the grandnephew of Will Rogers, was born Nov. 9, 1925, in Bushyhead to Herb and Madalyn McSpadden.
He was only 2 years old when the family moved to Will Rogers' Ranch at Oologah so his father could manage the operation.
State Superintendent Sandy Garrett said Tuesday that social struggles like poverty and budget crunches due to rising costs should not keep schools from setting and reaching higher goals for children.
She focused on three initiatives in her annual Oklahoma State of Education address at the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City.
They are:
? Reducing classroom interruptions to make sure children have every opportunity to learn.
? Hiring graduation coaches and test coordinators so counselors have time to help students in need.
? Integrating technology so students are as connected in the classroom as they are out of the classroom.
