  • Crikey! 'Crocodile Hunter' daughter gets own doll

    CLEVELAND (AP) -- The Emmy-winning daughter of the late "Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin is getting her own doll.

    The 10-inch Bindi Irwin doll sports khakis, puffy pigtails and hiking boots, and comes with binoculars, a camera and other outback gear, as well as a cockatoo, wombat and python.

    A talking version of the Bindi doll uses such phrases as, "Crikey! Let's go help wildlife," and "You can make the world a better place."

    The rubber dolls will cost $15 to $20, with a portion going to help fund efforts to breed endangered species and rescue animals. They are expected to be in stores in September.

  • Man dies after two-vehicle accident in eastern Oklahoma County

    SPENCER ? A man died here Friday night after a two-vehicle accident, authorities said.

    About 8 p.m., Stanley D. Payne Jr., 24, was driving west on NE 63 near Lenox Avenue when an eastbound vehicle crossed the median and collided head-on with Payne's vehicle, Oklahoma City police Lt. Ron Bacy said.

    Payne died at the scene.

    The driver of the eastbound vehicle was flown to a local hospital in critical condition, Bacy said.

  • Body of drowning victim recovered this morning near Ponca City

    PONCA CITY ? The body of a Ponca City man who drowned in the Arkansas River was found this morning, authorities said.

    Harry Walter Blueback, 22, went under shortly before 6:45 p.m. on Friday, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Family members found Blueback's body on a sandbar shortly before 7:15 a.m.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers shut down the Kaw Lake dam so the water level could be lowered.
