  • The Village program provides canine audience to help kids gain confidence reading
THE VILLAGE ? The Leviston boys love reading, especially to Hercules. The retired service dog listens patiently and quietly. He doesn't criticize or correct.

That's the kind of reading partner that allows brothers Lenard, Jared and Jarod to build confidence in their reading, said their mother, Christina Leviston. At a Monday night town hall meeting at Piedmont First Baptist Church, more than 400 people filled out surveys after listening to presentations by OG&E officials and engineers, Fina said.

Luke was one of the contestants in the ice cream sundae contest at the 94th annual Oklahoma County Free Fair. Luke's division ? 4 and younger ? was tough. Mostly because he and the other competitors wanted to eat their ice cream before I had the chance to judge. Then again, how on earth do you judge how well toddlers can make sundaes?

This was my third year to judge the contest, which is always hilarious. The kids are so creative.
