  • For many Oklahomans, Graffiti Bridge left a mark in memories
    Built in the 1930s, the Graffiti Bridge was a place where different generations left their mark.

    For more than five decades the bridge stood over Western Avenue in Oklahoma City.

    The Robert Symes Trucking & Excavating Co. completed the task of demolishing and hauling off Graffiti Bridge from NW 59 and Western in June 1991.

    When pieces of the bridge crumbled to the ground and vast slabs of layered paint peeled off the concrete, it should have come as no surprise that parts of Graffiti Bridge had begun a second life.

    Some people took a piece of the Graffiti Bridge just after its demise, swooping in like vultures as piles of concrete and chunks of paint were dumped near the demolition site, which was surrounded by

  • Gov't: AG doing better after collapse

    WASHINGTON (AP) _ Attorney General Michael Mukasey was feeling better Friday after collapsing during a speech, a spokeswoman said, reporting that hospital medical tests showed no signs of a stroke or cardiac-related problem.

    Gina Talamona of the Justice Department told reporters the 67-year-old Mukasey, who had been rushed to George Washington University Hospital after the attack late Thursday, was still recovering Friday and had more tests scheduled as a precaution. She said he never transferred his authority as attorney general at any time during the incident.

    "There's no indication that he suffered a stroke or any heart-related incident," Talamona said outside the hospital. "It really appears to be a fainting spell.

  • Lawmen raiding Edmond apartment complex

    EDMOND — About 70 lawmen raided an Edmond apartment complex this morning, looking for gang activity, drugs and other criminal activity, a police spokeswoman said.

    The raid is at Rolling Green Apartment, 400 E Danforth Road, Glynda Chu said.
