  • Flooding still a concern in some areas of Oklahoma

    Rain is expected to continue today in Oklahoma before it slowly moves out the state late today.

    Periods of heavy rain this morning may soak portions of south-central and southeast Oklahoma, flooding some areas south of Interstate 40 and east of I-35.

    Lesser amounts of rain are expected over central and southwest Oklahoma, according to the National Weather Service. Still, isolated heavy rain could cause flooding in areas that have received large amounts of rain during the past few days.

    Rain is expected to diminish from the west today and tonight, as an upper-level low pressure system slowly moves east and weakens.

  • Man indicted after Lawton bank robbery

    A Texas man was indicted on federal bank robbery charges stemming from a May 7 robbery of a Lawton bank.

    Larry Collier Taylor, Jr., 24, of Houston was indicted Tuesday in the Western District of Oklahoma with using, carrying and brandish a firearm during a crime of violence, car jacking, and bank robbery.

    Taylor is accused of stealing a 2004 Pontiac Grand AM on May 4 in Oklahoma City. Three days later, he is accused of using a gun to rob the People State Bank in Lawton.

    Taylor remains at the Grady County jail. If convicted he faces up to 45 years imprisonment and a $750,000 fine.
